If you've been following this blog you know I moved off the boat to replace the sole, install new water tanks, finish the refit of the V-Berth, head, and mid-ship. I also had to make the boat "Pet-friendly" for my eleven year old buddy, Fuji.
I am happy to say, for the most part, it's all finished and I'm moving back on-board tomorrow.
Forgive me for a short post but I'm exhausted and tomorrow is going to be crazy busy.
Fair seas and God bless!
Congrats on a job well done. everything looks so much better now. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun living on the boat.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dan.
DeleteIn the process of moving aboard right now. I'll post later. Thanks for the encouragement.
Agree, excellent effort on the upgrades. I would like to hear your thoughts on the floor. If I remember correctly you have changes it a few times. Again congrats and look forward to hearing some sailing stories.
ReplyDeleteHey mike... Thanks.
DeleteThe "Floor"? Hmmm.... I have changed it a couple times. First I tried Allure... too soft and too easy to scuff up and damage.
Then I did Bamboo... looked great, good pricing... though it's considered a hardwood, it was easy to dent and scuff. Also, the reason it came out was because when I did the floor hatches, I did not allow enough room for the boards swelling and damaged a few getting the hatches up for the new water-tanks. When went to Home Depot to buy replacement boards, they discontinued the type. nothing matched.
Then I had to add 3/4 inch sole for the new water-tanks to fit and just painted and used a rubber mat. It's not as nice as the Bamboo but it's cheap and practical.
With a dog on-board, the mat works good...easy to vacuum and clean up.
Thanks for following.
