I Live on a Boat!

I live on a boat!

Fuji and I are back aboard Annie, a "Pet-friendly" Westsail 32.

There are still many jobs to do, (see the punch-list), but she is livable now.

The Carry-On A/C is struggling to keep the Main Salon cool and I plan on addressing that immediately. Fuji and I are both a little warm and it's only May... summer can be brutal w/o A/C in South Florida. I have a friend, (Eric), loan me an additional Carry-On A/C but when I tried it today is was seized up. We will be considering other possibilities.

I've lost the V-Berth. Though I bought him a bed of his own, the first thing he did on his first night on the boat was grab his toys and take them to my side of the berth which has a mattress that is 4.5 inches of high density foam and 1.5 inches of cool memory foam. (Honestly, I'm happy to let him have it... for such a large V-Berth, it sits very high and is a little tight - I sleep in the Main Salon).

Pressure water and refrigeration are some of the first things on the list of live-aboard projects.

Here are some pics from the last couple of days... forgive me, the boat is a little messy in some of them.

Fair seas and God bless!

As long as he has his Red Bird, he's happy...

...and food... and Fuji Snacks...

... and grass to water...

...and a big back yard to explore

...and a nice view...

...and a six inch memory foam mattress.

Ready to Move Back Aboard!

If you've been following this blog you know I moved off the boat to replace the sole, install new water tanks, finish the refit of the V-Berth, head, and mid-ship. I also had to make the boat "Pet-friendly" for my eleven year old buddy, Fuji.

I am happy to say, for the most part, it's all finished and I'm moving back on-board tomorrow.

Forgive me for a short post but I'm exhausted and tomorrow is going to be crazy busy.

Fair seas and God bless!

Hurtin' in the Head

It hurts to squeeze into a small head, contort your body into positions that a Yoga Instructor would have difficulty with, and paint... without getting paint everywhere. Today, I was literally hurtin'... in the Head.

The trim is all but finished as well as the painting. Tomorrow I have one more piece of trim to cut, a port wall to paint, a couple of electrical outlet plate covers to put on, and then I'll start cleaning up and cleaning out the boat getting ready to move the mattress back aboard. Hopefully, I'll be back living aboard by Friday night.

I also got some decorative items in and up.

The head was a bigger job than I thought it would be... the pics below will tell that story.

Fair seas and God bless!

Mid-ship is in Shipshape

Mid-ship is getting in shipshape. The V-Berth is finished but is full of stuff, so no pics until the mattress is in and the bed is made.

What can I say about the painting the mid-ship... not much. Painting is painting and I always get a lot on me... but it does looks good. Tomorrow I'll finish everything but the head. The head will be Monday and Tuesday.

I took down the large drop-down mid-line table and set up a shorter lift up table instead of. I will probably add another one at the other end of the settee in case I have company.

Fair seas and God bless!

P.S. Diann, consider it a walk-in closet.

P.S.S. Denis, get back to work.
